Judge plays hooky to play with hookers

A Taiwanese judge has been impeached for taking time off work to meet with prostitutes in his luxury apartment. He also like to nip out of the office in the afternoon to meet with antique dealers and gamble with defendants. Get the whole story at the Taipei Times:

The Control Yuan’s property-declaration documents showed that Yang’s property assets had increased between NT$10 million (US$325,900) to NT$20 million, Shen said, adding that Yang told Control Yuan members that the total value of his property was estimated to be NT$300 million.

“Yang could have been a successful businessman because he is good with investments, but he was not allowed to make investments, because he was a judge,” Shen said.

Another irregularity that contributed to the impeachment was Yang’s frequent gambling, sometimes even with defendants, Shen said.

Do you think it’s time for Yang to hang up his robe? You be the judge and let us know in the comments.

California dreaming of pot legalization

According to recent polls, 49% of California voters favor a ballot measure that could legalize possession of up to 1 ounce of marijuana. Backers say Prop 19 could generate up to US$1.4 billion in annual tax receipts for local governments and generate US$300 million annual law enforcement savings. But opponents worry the increased availability of marijuana will lead to higher use among minors. Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger recently decriminalized possession of up to 1 ounce and says Prop 19 is unnecessary.

Do you think Prop 19 should pass? Leave us your comments on our Facebook page.

‘Tasmanian Devil’ drunk rips through town

Before this Taiwanese drunkard was arrested, he had stolen a cell phone, stolen a cab, crashed the cab into an SUV, escaped the crash scene to steal a truck, and beaten up the owner of the truck who tried to stop him. This drunkard was captured on camera flapping his man-boobs at the police station. We have the animations reenacting this drunk Tasmanian Devil. He claims to have blacked out and has no recollection of his… um… night out.

This reminds us of the time when Hong Kong model Rosemary crashed into Reno’s landmark.
