DogTV provides relaxation, stimulation for dogs

Just when you think you’ve seen just about everything, you change the channel and voila: DogTV is flashing in front of your eyes. DogTV is a new cable channel for dogs, with programming that features muted colors, altered sound and specially composed music. The network is designed to bring relaxation and stimulation to dogs when their humans are away from home. DogTV is currently only available on two channels in the San Diego area but it already has 1 million subscribers and is looking to go national. More than 46 million US households own at least one dog and 97 percent have a television, so drawing in large numbers of subscribers shouldn’t be too difficult….

Stephen Colbert has handed control of his Super PAC to fellow comedian Jon Stewart and changed its name from Americans for a Better Tomorrow, Tomorrow to The Definitely Not Coordinated With Stephen Colbert Super PAC. A Super PAC can raised and spend unlimited funds on campaigns as long as it does not coordinate their activities with a candidate. In practice this allows presidential candidates to distance themselves from attacks on their political opponents. Fox to push animation on Saturdays

Fox has announced plans to air a late night Saturday block of animation, complementing its Animation Domination slate of Sunday cartoons which includes The Simpsons and Family Guy. Kevin Reilly, head of Fox Broadcasting Company’s entertainment division, made the announcement on Sunday as part of a larger unveiling of a new unit at Fox that will develop original, alternative programming. It will be led by former Adult Swim development head Nick Weidenfeld, who spearheaded such cult animated series as Metalocalypse and Superjail! Even though most of the Next Media Animation staff lives in Taiwan, we still enjoy American comedy shows. So we were thrilled when our work was parodied on an episode of NBC’s Parks and Recreation in March, 2011. The segment appeared in the seventh episode of Parks and Recreation’s third season, Harvest Festival. A video that mimicked the style of the Taiwanese animators showed the leader of a Native American tribe putting a curse on the show’s main character, Leslie Knope (Amy Poehler). Enjoy!
