Marijuana Legalization 2012: On November 6, citizens in Colorado will vote on Amendment 64 (the Regulate Marijuana Like Alcohol Act), citizens in Washington State will vote on Initiative 502, and citizens in Oregon will vote on Measure 80 (the Oregon Cannabis Tax Act). This isn’t Trojan horse-style medical marijuana legalization. Each of these measures would permit citizens to possess a defined amount of marijuana, without a doctor’s permit. Polls show strong support for Amendment 64 in Colorado. Opponents, however, worry about motorists driving under the influence of marijuana.
