Walmart shopper Mica Craig got the shock of his life when he was bitten by a rattlesnake. Craig was shopping in the garden section when the snake sank its fangs into his hand. Initially, the Idaho native thought he was brushing away a stick that had fallen across his legs. He soon found this was not the case. Craig shook the snake lose and stomped it to death before falling to the ground in pain. Craig was shopping at the Walmart to get soil for his marijuana plants. Lamb could be executed online in German art project

Decapitating a lamb is the premise of a controversial art project by two German students. Berlin University art students Iman Rezai and Rouven Materne built a colorful guillotine and asked the public to vote whether or not the lamb should be killed live on the internet. Photos of the lamb with its head sticking out of the guillotine have been published online. Killing an animal without reasonable cause is illegal in Germany. Authorities are threatening the pair with three-year jail terms, but Rezai and Materne are pressing on with their project, which they call An Experiment Representing the Current Conditions Surrounding Democracy. Just when you think you’ve seen just about everything, you change the channel and voila: DogTV is flashing in front of your eyes. DogTV is a new cable channel for dogs, with programming that features muted colors, altered sound and specially composed music. The network is designed to bring relaxation and stimulation to dogs when their humans are away from home. DogTV is currently only available on two channels in the San Diego area but it already has 1 million subscribers and is looking to go national. Sweetie and her male mate Sunshine arrived in Scotland from China last December and had been kept in separate enclosures until this week, when experts decided the time to mate had arrived. Female pandas ovulate once a year, with only a 36-hour period in which they can get conceive. Bear saves California hiker from mountain lion attack

A California man has told how a bear saved him from certain death after he was attacked by a mountain lion while out hiking. Robert Biggs, 70, had just finished observing a bear and her cubs when a mountain lion jumped on his back. After Biggs tried unsuccessfully to fight off the lion, the female bear grabbed the lion off his back. The animals fought for a while before the lion ran off.
