KLM to use social media for ‘meet and seat’
KLM will let passengers select who to sit next to on flights using social media such as Facebook. The Dutch airline, part of Star Alliance, will introduce the app next month. KLM says “meet and seat” is aimed at networking, but will some abuse it to join the Mile High Club?
Who you are seated next to on a plane can definitely affect your air travel experience. This is why KLM wants to give passengers the option of selecting who to sit next to using social media tools like Facebook. KLM says the “meet and seat” program can be used for networking or to find passengers who share similar interests.
