Oregon Rep. David Wu admitted to having an inappropriate sexual encounter with the daughter of a campaign donor. There is confusion in the press about the girl’s age.

Wu was the first Taiwan-born American to be elected to the House of Representatives. His parents fled to Taiwan during the Chinese Civil War.

Wu was doing Taiwanese and Taiwanese Americans proud, until accusations he sexually assaulted a classmate in college surfaced in 2004.

It seems Wu had put his past behind him until he began acting erratically last year. He illicitly accepted prescription pills and sent strange photos of himself to staff.

After some resistance, Wu has announced he will resign. Taiwan’s nightmare has come to an end.
