Cathay Pacific censors NMA video
Not so long ago, Next Media received a tip: male passengers in the Business Class section of Cathay Pacific have been seen masturbating. The tip was too good to pass up. NMA set the story to animation!
You can watch the English version of the animation here:
This of course didn’t make Cathay Pacific very happy. Cathay wanted the video taken down. At first, Cathay sent a letter to NMA demanding the video be removed.
When we refused, Cathay complained to YouTube that the video had violated “community standards” and decency. YouTube took no action.
Finally, Cathay turned to law firm Simmons & Simmons for help.
A lawyer for Simmons and Simmons claims our video violates Cathay Pacific’s “copyright” and has successfully petitioned YouTube to remove the video under the Digital Millennium Copyright Act.
Wow! What a bunch of wankers! Does Simmons & Simmons not understand satire and copyright law?
